Obama: Hollywood’s Newest “It” Girl?

Ok, who are the chuckleheads in charge of the ads for Camp McCain? Seriously, putting Barack Obama in the same company Britney “crotch flasher” Spears and Paris “Valtrex” Hilton? Weak.

I get the sentiment, don’t be swept up in his “celebrity”, blah blah blah. That’s a legitimately debatable point. What isn’t, however, is this ad, which is dripping in lame sauce.

Obama’s campaign should do an ad likening McCain to Littlefoot from “Land Before Time”, because they’re both pre-historic.

  1. The ad is also weak because the images themselves present a generally positive view of Obama, and most people will see the images more than they’ll hear the words. Of course this whole “movin’-picture” stuff may be tricky for the McCain folks. But I hear they’ve come up with a heck of a kinetoscope ad.

  2. LOL James. Honest to God, it’s like he’s got some college kids putting his ads together. Hell, maybe he does.

  3. But wouldn’t college kids be afraid to get close to McCain, with all the “stranger danger” warnings they’ve grown up with? :)

  4. Well, maybe. Personally, I’d be afraid because John McCain smells like old people. Which is never very pleasant…

I love it — the non subliminal subliminal. It was like, an accident; like from some Pepsi commercial. Like, “Oops, how’d that get in there? We forgot to pull that out.” Sad part is, it’ll probably work.

  6. That’s the second reference to Littlefoot I’ve heard in 1 week. Weird.

  7. John, I have to admit…I actually had to google what the little guy’s name was. Been a loooong time since I’ve seen that movie!
